Where does the money go?
100% Goes towards local events
Docking Contest and River Days = DCRD
Labor Day Fireworks = LDF
Labor Day Boat Parade = LDBP
DCRD

30%

About 30% of your donation goes towards making the DCRD happen. While many needed items are graciously donated, big ticket items require at least some monetary expense and roughly 30% of your contribution covers that.

LDBP

<10%

Less than 10% of all donations go towards paying for the Labor Day Boat Parade, ranging from awards for the contestants to permits.

LDF

~65%

Because the annual Labor Day Fireworks paid for a year in advance, roughly 65% of the total sponsorship money goes towards ensuring the fireworks continue. The fireworks themselves are the majority expense in making the show happen, but there are other costs associated including state fire marshal and permits, fire trucks on-site, and land clearing/mowing.

Time

0%

All of the time donated between volunteers for the various events, setup and cleanup, administrative work like filing permits, and even firefighters is graciously donated. Aside from state permits and the required-by-law fire marshal, all money is spent on material items.
